IV. Man At Creation

A. How Did God Create Man?

Genesis 2:
7 And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

Zechariah 12:
1 THE burden of the word of the Lord for Israel, saith the Lord, which stretcheth forth the heavens, and layeth the foundation of the earth, and formeth the spirit of man within him.

1 Corinthians 15:
45 And so it is written. The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.

Job 33:
4 The spirit of God hath made me, and the breath of the Almighty hath given me life.

Job 27
    3 All the while my breath is in me, and the spirit of God is in my nostrils;

Psalms 104:
30 Thou sendest forth thy spirit, they are created: and thou renewest the face of the earth.

Isaiah 42:
5 Thus saith God the Lord, he that created the heavens, and stretched them out; he that spread forth the earth, and that which cometh out of it; he that giveth breath unto the people upon it, and spirit to them that walk therein

NOTE:
Notice that man became or was made a living soul. There is no mention of a living soul being put into the body of man by God.
Genesis 2:7 Says, the dust of the earth plus the breath of God made man a living soul.
If the nails are taken out of a wood crate, the crate ceases to exist, and only a stack of boards and a pile of nails remain. If the boards are nailed back together, the crate exists again.
The same with man, if the breath of life is separated from man’s body then there is no longer a living soul. When God combines the soul and body at the resurrection, man be-comes a living soul again.

Psalms 139:
14 I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.

Psalms 8:
5 For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour.

Ezekiel 37:
1 THE hand of the Lord was upon me, and carried me out in the spirit of the Lord, and set me down in the midst of the valley which was full of bones,
2 And caused me to pass by them round about: and, behold, there were very many in the open valley; and, lo, they were very dry.
3 And he said unto me, Son of man, can these bones live? And I answered, O Lord God, thou knowest.
4 Again he said unto me, Prophesy upon these bones, and say unto them, O ye dry bones, hear the word of the Lord.
5 Thus saith the Lord God unto these bones; Behold, I will cause breath to enter into you, and ye shall live:
6 And I will lay sinews upon you, and will bring up flesh upon you, and cover you with skin, and put breath in you, and ye shall live; and ye shall know that I am the Lord.
7 So I prophesied as I was commanded: and as I prophesied, there was a noise, and Behold a shaking, and the bones came together, bone to his bone.
8 And when I beheld, lo, the sinews and the flesh came up upon them, and the skin covered them above: but there was no breath in them.
9 Then said he unto me, Prophesy unto the wind, prophesy, son of man, and say to the wind, Thus saith the Lord God; Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe upon these slain, that they may live.
10 So I prophesied as he commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they lived, and stood up upon their feet, an exceeding great army.
14 And shall put my spirit in you, and ye shall live, and I shall place you in your own land: then shall ye know that I the LORD have spoken it, and performed it, saith the Lord.

B. Is Death The Reverse Of Creation?

1. Does Man’s Form Return To Dust?

Genesis 3:
19 In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.

Ecclesiastes 12:
7 Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.

Psalms 146:
4 His breath goeth forth, he returneth to his earth; in that very day his thoughts perish.

Job 34:
15 All flesh shall perish together, and man shall turn again unto dust.

Psalms 104:
29 Thou hidest thy face, they are troubled: thou takest away their breath, they die, and return to their dust.

Ecclesiastes 3:
20 All go unto one place; all are of the dust, and all turn to dust again.

Psalms 22:
29 All they that be fat upon earth shall eat and worship: all they that go down to the dust shall bow before him: and none can keep alive his own soul.

Isaiah 26:
19 Thy dead men shall live, together with my dead body shall they arise. Awake and sing, ye that dwell in dust: for thy dew is as the dew of herbs, and the earth shall cast out the dead.

Daniel 12:
2 And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.

Job 7:
21 And why dost thou not pardon mine transgression, and take away my iniquity? for now shall I sleep in the dust; and thou shalt seek me in the morning, but I shall not be.

Job 17:
16 They shall go down to the bars of the pit, when our rest together is in the dust.

2. Does Man’s Breath Return To God Who Gave It?

Psalms 146:
4 His breath (7307) goeth forth, he returneth to his earth; in that very day his thoughts perish.

Psalms 104:
29 Thou hidest thy face, they are troubled: thou takest away their breath, (7307) they die, and return to their dust.

Job 34:
14 If he set his heart upon man, if he gather unto himself his spirit (7307) and his breath; (5397)

Ecclesiastes 3:
21 Who knoweth the spirit (7307) of man that goeth upward, and the spirit of the beast that goeth downward to the earth?

Ecclesiastes 12:
7 Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit (7307) shall return unto God who gave it.

NOTE:
Using the Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance we see that the word “breath” (7307 ruwach) in Psalms 104:29 and Psalms 146:4 is the same word interpreted “spirit” (7307 ruwach) in Job 34:14 and Ecclesiastes 12:7. The word “breath” (5397 nshamah) in Job 34:14 is the same as used in Genesis 2:7 ...breathed into his nostrils the breath of life... (5397 nshamah).
Even the spirit of the wicked person goes back to God. The spirit (breath of life)(the power that gives life) is neither righteous nor sinful.

Colossians 3:
3 For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.
