IX. WHAT ABOUT THE
SABBATH TODAY? (LAST DAYS)
- MATTHEW 15:
- 3 "But he answered and said unto them,
Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God by your
tradition?"
- 9 "But in vain they do worship me,
teaching for doctrines the commandments of men."
- NOTE:
- Christ was here referring to the
fifth commandment as shown in verse 4, but the principle would apply to
any of the commandments.
- Is keeping Sunday for the Sabbath day, a
commandment of man, and kept in vain?
- REVELATION 14:
- 12 "Here is the
patience of the saints: here are they that keep the
commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus."
- NOTE:
- Keeping the commandments of God is
one of the distinguishing characteristics of the saints in the very last
days of this worlds´ history. Will they be keeping all ten?
- JOHN 7:
- 32 "The Pharisees heard
that the people murmured such things concerning him; and the Pharisees
and the chief priests sent officers to take him."
- 45 "Then came the officers to the chief
priests and Pharisees; and they said unto them, Why
have ye not brought him?"
- 46 "The officers answered, Never man
spake like this man."
- 47 "Then answered them the
Pharisees, Are ye also deceived?"
- 48 "Have any of the rulers or of the
Pharisees believed on him?"
- NOTE:
- It is being asked and will be
asked to the end of time: "Do your parents, does your minister, do
any of the great church leaders or evangelist keep the seventh-day
Sabbath? Is a popularity vote the best test of truth? Was it in
Christ´s day?
- JOHN 12:
- 42 "Nevertheless among
the chief rulers also many believed on him; but because of the
Pharisees they did not confess him, lest they should be put out of the
synagogue:"
- 43 "For they loved the praise of men
more than the praise of God."
- NOTE:
- In the last days there will be
those that accept the Sabbath but are afraid to keep it holy because
they are afraid of what others may think or say.
- PROVERBS 14:
- 12 "There is a way
which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of
death."
- PHILIPPIANS 2:
- 12 "Wherefore, my
beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now
much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and
trembling."
- NOTE:
- "There is a way which seemeth
right ...." The only way we can know if something is right or wrong
is by studying the Bible and doing a lot of praying. "Work out your
own salvation ...." Do not just take someone´s word for it.
The closer we get to the end of this world the more important it will be
to study the Bible for ourselves.
