O L O R S Light from the sun reaches the earth in approximately eight minutes. When it gets here it is broken down into many uses. Sunlight helps plants grow which produces food for many other forms of life. Light also is reflected back in the form of color. Color is formed when light is absorbed or reflected back in certain wavelengths into our eyes. There are colors not visible to our eyes, and we need different lenses to observe them. What colors we do see in nature covers such a wide spectrum that many of our feelings and emotions are controlled by certain colors. Red Cardinals or yellow Goldfinches cause a cheerful feeling as does a little brown fawn with white spots on his back. How can a person not feel good standing in the middle of a flower garden--with black, yellow, red, and blue butterflies dancing all around. Birds of all shades of colors comb the trees and hedges in our yards giving us something new everyday to see. God even gave each season of the year its own colors. Even the very small insects reflect bright greens, shiny blacks and blues like the tiny beetles. And He even made many colors of people so life is never lacking in variety. Jesus even gave us a beautiful rainbow of many colors across the sky as a promise that He will never destroy the earth again until He makes all things new. Think of what the Great Artist will color for us in the New Earth!
