In the winter time in the northern part of the world many animals hibernate or sleep in coves or in holes in trees. Frogs have many ways to make it through the winter. Some bury themselves in the mud at the bottom of the pond all winter and breathe through their skin. Others live under bark in trees or brush piles. Some (like Spring Peepers) have antifreeze in their blood, and can sit at the edge of the pond in snow and "Peep" all winter!

Frogs come in many colors, sizes, and shapes. Some have poison skins, others have very large mouths, and others hatch their babies in the stomach and burp them up when they're large enough! All frogs eat insects, and some large frogs and toads eat mice and small birds. Male frogs and toads sing very loud to help find a mate in the spring.

There are so many interesting things about frogs and toads that it would take a book to tell about them. The Bible speaks of frogs a few times. See if you can find what Moses did with frogs in Egypt. Frogs are God's mosquito control devices! Thank God again for another interesting creature to study.
