First Few Days

We have arrived here in Belize safely and have been having a wonderful time.  Other than loosing two bags, which arrived on Friday, our flights were uneventful.  The weather has been cooperating well; although the temperatures have been hot, we have been able to continue working all morning. Every day, we have been able to go swimming in the afternoon and visit Cayo Twist to cool down.  Although Cayo Twist will not be open after today until Thursday, we'll still be able to enjoy God's creation.
The kitchen's construction has been progressing smoothly. We have finished the west wall and part of the east wall and have built and attached the beams for the overhang.  Because the pressure-treated plywood necessary for the trusses has not arrived yet, we have not been able to start them; but even this lack has been good because it has allowed us to make progress on VBS preparation and on the blog and pictures.

Both the trip members and the students have been enjoying the VBS program.  We have enjoyed meeting our friends from last year's trip and making new friends.  This afternoon, we plan to go to the Xunantunich Mayan ruin to relax and enjoy the cool breeze at the top.

Thank you for your all the ways that you have been supporting us: through monetary contributions, prayer, and encouragement.  This trip is important for both the Belizians and for the trip members, and only eternity will fully disclose the all trip's results.
