McDonald Road Church was filled with voices of young people praising God and learning about Him June 10-14 for ROAR! The Vacation Bible School theme was “Life is Wild, God is Good.” We had 180 children register, and they learned that no matter what happens in life God is still in control and God is good.

The kids got to learn about God and his goodness at each of the stations: singing songs about God’s goodness, learning about Him through Bible adventures, creating crafts to take home as a reminder, playing games that helped illustrate the daily lesson, studying the Bible in groups, and enjoying a thematic snack each day. Everyday had a different lesson to learn, “When life is unfair…God is good,” “When life is scary…God is good,” “When life changes…God is good,” “When life is sad…God is good,” When life is good…God is good.” The kids would repeat the phrase “God is good” throughout the day, taking it to heart.

VBS was a tremendous success due to great leadership from Kristi West and an amazing group of 113 volunteers. It was exciting to see so many kids smiling, singing, and enjoying God’s goodness.
